Conscious sound system music for the healing of the nation! JahYu's very own Tripedal Crow Records unveils the newest addition to the artist family - meditative music for troubling times. Based in Hamburg, Penguin Sound surfaces with a grand debut EP and emerges as an artist to watch out for. Smoothly defying genre conventions and with a keen sense of space, the up and coming artist and producer merges Dub and Dubstep characteristics in a fluid yet precise manner, fused with a meticulous and multi-faceted melodic approach. Primed for future dance floor opportunities as much as home-listening situations, the meditative journey 'Through The Desert' shall stand the test of time as an integral part of the greater Dub and Dubstep canon.

Vast dunes of harmonic overtones, the title track kicks off with ethereal chords and oriental lead melodies in a constant state of ebb and flow. 'Through The Desert' nests its meditative contents on a heavyweight foundation, overdriven sub-bass bustling amid the auditory sandstorm. On a more technoid venture, 'Mirage Dub' evokes a profound sense of ominous anticipation. As the veil is lifted, swaths of low-frequency excursions mingle amid the authentic percussion and glitched-out ambience. 'Rain' materializes introspective notions and spheres of melancholy. Hovering among the experimental soundscape, it reaches into the depths of consciousness as evanescent strings guide the way. In staccato style, 'Beyond The Temple' sports fidgeting hi-hats and sizzling pressure valves, guided by a creative micro-arrangement and distorted bassline foundation - hazy and expressive with plenty of grooves to round off the trip. Descending into the eerie atmosphere, 'Elderstab' takes a stride through synth Valhalla on top of old-school wobbles, merging in a beautiful and dynamic progression. Returning to the title track, the VIP turns up the heat in a full-on stepper version business fashion, energetic sound system fuel, providing a perfect contrast to the original - proper! Distinguished artist and label boss JahYu takes on 'Rain' and imprints his signature style in a hypnotic version in minimal sound attire as fleeting melodies guide the way through. A superb culmination of the release and conclusion for the debut release of Penguin Sound - off to a great start!
